Juvenile Delinquency: Do Juvenile Girls Have the Right Programs?

Abstract: This base will explain that girls of the United States of the States do not excite the correct treatment plot of land in the juvenile detention centers as well as not getting the correct treatment once returning to the outside world. The research will similarly show that boys let to a greater extent than programs offered to them because they have dominated the juvenile justice system. The paper will show the incompatible theories of others who have researched that girls do not have the right programs and how the state and federal government ineluctably to adjust the juvenile justice system to fit girls and boys.

Introduction

The children in the United States live in a very different country of those of their p arnts or grandp arents. Children over the centuries have experienced roughly problems such as sexual abuse, family problems, poverty, mental issues, etc. In more juvenile years girls have began to go through and through puberty at younger ages causing them to become more promiscuous which puts them at higher risk to do nefarious acts. As girls become more criminal prone the more detention centers that are crowded with girls, but in some states girls are not getting the right treatment or put into the right programs for them to lead a successful intent after leaving the detention center.




In a recent article by the Maryland Gazette it talked about how girls who are sent to juvenile detention centers are not set equal to boys. Juvenile boys have programs that are offered for them from 3p.m. to 9p.m. and none of these programs are offered to girls. According to Sonia Kumar who is the American Civil Liberties lawyer for Baltimore, Maryland declared the only option for girls is to lock them up not pass any short-term rehabilitation or vocational training.
